Who we are
Effilens is a venture studio based in the Netherlands that designs and builds software products. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website (www.effilens.com), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
What we collect
We only collect personal data that you actively submit through this website:
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), company (optional), and your message.
- Talent application form: your name, email address, phone number, location, role, a link to your work (optional), and the answers you write about yourself and what you want to build.
- Newsletter signup: your email address.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. This site stores two small functional flags in your browser's local storage to remember whether you subscribed to or dismissed the newsletter popup; these never leave your device.
How we use your data
- To respond to messages you send us through the contact form.
- To review and follow up on talent applications.
- To send occasional email updates if you subscribed to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand aggregate site usage through privacy-friendly analytics (see below).
We never sell your personal data, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing.
Who processes it
- Formspree, Inc. (United States) receives and stores form submissions on our behalf. See the Formspree privacy policy.
- Vercel, Inc. (United States) hosts this website and provides cookie-less, aggregated visitor analytics that do not identify individual visitors. See the Vercel privacy policy.
Where these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Legal basis
We process contact messages and talent applications on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to you and taking steps prior to a possible collaboration (art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We send the newsletter only with your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your inquiry, at most 24 months.
- Talent applications: up to 12 months after the application, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- restrict or object to its processing;
- receive it in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time (for the newsletter).
To exercise any of these rights, reach us through the contact form on our homepage. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
